Council for Voluntary Service, Rochdale

Dear Colleagues

It is with regret that I have to inform you that at a meeting of the Board of Directors on Thursday 11th January 2018 a decision was reached to call an Extra Ordinary meeting of members of the organisation to pass a resolution to wind up the organisation and appoint an insolvency practitioner to liquidate it.

This meeting will take place on Tuesday 30th January 2018, following which CVS Rochdale will cease trading.

This decision was reached following the independent review commissioned by RMBC which revealed that the organisation had an operating defecit up to the end of December 2017 which means that our core funder (Rochdale Council are no longer able to fund the organisation.  We will therefore over the next few weeks start to wind up our service delivery.

Rochdale Council do propose to put the Voluntary Sector Infrastructure Support Services and Volunteer Driver Service out to tender so we are aiming to make interim arrangements to ensure the continuation of the Volunteer Driver Service and Health & Wellbeing Alliance in the interim

Thanks for all your support and assistance over the years.

Yours sincerely

Michelle Warburton
Chief Executive Officer
