The Volunteer Centre Rochdale Borough is a service provided by the Council for Voluntary Services Rochdale. Volunteer Centre Rochdale Borough is part of a national network of volunteer development agencies, which provide support at a local level for individual volunteers and volunteer - involving organisations.

Volunteer Centre Rochdale - Functions

The Volunteer Centre Rochdale Borough has six core functions in accordance with the guidelines set by Volunteering England:

1. Brokerage
2. Marketing of Volunteering
3. Good Practice Development
4. Development of Volunteering Opportunities
5. Policy Response and Campaigning
6. Strategic development of Volunteering

We provide information and support to private, voluntary and public organisations and community groups on the following:-

• Developing volunteer policies and procedures
• Identifying and developing appropriate volunteer roles for organisations
• Recruitment and selection of volunteers
• Induction, training and support of volunteers
• Problems and grievances
• Volunteers and the law

The Volunteer Centre works to promote volunteering as a powerful force for change, both for those who volunteer and for the wider community.
