CVS Rochdale has an ICT Advice Service, E-communities, which is available to all Voluntary and Community Groups within the 22 NRF priority areas in the Borough of Rochdale.
The service aims to develop understanding of Information Technology, no matter where the starting point is and to guide each organisation in such a way that it is able to use ICT effectively. We will help you to identify:
E-communities offers help and advice on various aspects of ICT. So, whether you’re experiencing difficulties with your network, printers or CD-rewriters, or just need some help to use your computer more efficiently, we’re here to help. We also provide support to develop IT strategies and policies. We can advise you on registering a domain name, setting up a website, and purchasing new computers. Whatever your enquiry gives us a call at CVS Rochdale and we’ll do our best to help.
The E-communities project is here for the Voluntary Sector and wants to help as many people as we can with any problems they have with their ICT.
Includes sessions such as:
We also do bespoke training: for more information and to discuss IT training contact E-communities officer
E-communities provide ICT funding advice to the sector
We support the community and voluntary sector to write ICT policies, to help place a protective measure in place for organisations that use IT
The result of the ICT Health-Check is an IT strategy for the group or organisation. This assesses where the group is now, where it wants to be, and how it can get there
This will involve providing advice to groups or individuals on various aspects of ICT ranging from security, external threats, features of computers, and information on different broadband providers available on the market
We will explain different features of computer/laptops so groups will purchase equipment which meets their needs. We will also be able to help the organisation or group to purchase equipment at a reasonable price, and encourage the group to budget and to consider investing in a maintenance plan
Communication is developing and increasingly essential for the 21st century and the majority of businesses and organisations are very heavily reliant on ICT. We will help groups to set up personalized email accounts and training.
E-communities will work with organisations to develop their own website and provide full training and continued support for future maintenance.
If you have any IT questions or would like to discuss IT projects contact the ICT development officer at CVS Rochdale.
