Governance
Welcome to the Governance section
What is Governance?
Governance has been defined as “the systems and processes concerned with ensuring the overall direction, effectiveness, supervision and accountability of an organisation”*. Every organisation from the “3rd sector” or the “Not for Profit Sector” (such as Social Enterprises, Voluntary or Community Organisation) are controlled by a governing body that takes ultimate responsibility.

These governing bodies are referred to as Management Committees, Board of Trustees, or simply as “The Board”.
