Council for Voluntary Service, Rochdale

CVS Rochdale was established in 1975 and became incorporated as a registered charity (charity no: 700561) and company limited by guarantee (co no: 2280025) in 1988. The charitable purpose of the organisation is to promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community within Greater Manchester in particular:-

  •  The advancement of education
  • The furtherance of health and relief of poverty, distress and sickness
  •  To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare, for recreational and other leisure time activities with the object of improving conditions of life
  • To promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above by bringing together representatives of the statutory authorities and voluntary organisations. 



The Volunteer Centre Rochdale Borough supports and promotes volunteering across the borough of Rochdale and works with individuals who wish to volunteer and with groups and organisations that use volunteers.

The Greater Manchester Funding Portal is a free, online resource that will give you all you need to know about funding your work, whether you are an individual, community group, voluntary organisation, registered charity or social enterprise.
The Greater Manchester Funding Portal has been set up as a partnership project between voluntary sector support and development organisations across Greater Manchester, including CVS Rochdale .
Funding for this project has been obtained from; Bolton CVS, Manchester Community Central, Voluntary Action Oldham, CVS Rochdale, Salford CVS, Anchorpoint Stockport, Tameside 3rd Sector Coalition, Voluntary & Community Action Trafford and Wigan & Leigh CVS.


The Ambition for Ageing project is a collaborative venture led by Kashmir Youth Project, (the Local Delivery Lead and central hub for the partnership) in conjunction with CVS Rochdale; Bangladesh Association and Community Project; Meadowfields Community Centre and Demesne Community Centre.
