CVS Rochdale was established in 1975, it is a registered Charity (No:700561) and Company Limited By Guarantee (No: 2280025). It is also an accredited member of the national CVS movement which was founded in 1945. CVS Rochdale has 5 Core functions which characterise a local infrastructure organisation supporting the development of the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector:-
Development Work: Supporting the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector to identify gaps in Public Service Provision and working with them to develop new and innovative services to meet these needs
Networking: Supporting networking between the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector Organisations and the Statutory Sector
Representation: Enabling the views of the Sector to be represented
Strategic Partnership working: Shaping the delivery local services through Local Regional and National Initiatives and Partnerships
Advice, Information and Support Services: Acting as a key resource and information point for provision of services which increase the effectiveness of the local Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector.
